For the past year, I have been using Obsidian as a personal note taker. I did it mainly to wean myself off of big tech sites that can change terms of service, remove a service, etc. Obsidian is an open source editor that allows me to store my files locally and uses plain text with Markdown, so I don’t have to worry about proprietary file formats that constantly change. I am using the devbean Obsidian plug in to publish directly from Obsidian to my WordPress blog. It was really easy to set up and even includes images.
